Before the start of my legal career I obtained a First Class law degree from Cambridge University where I was an Elizabeth Flower Squire Law Scholar and George Long Prizeman (Roman Law).

I qualified as a notary public in 2019 after 35 years as a solicitor in England and Wales, both in private practice and in commerce and industry. I come from an unbroken tradition of family legal practice going back to 1856 (as solicitors in England and Wales) and (with a break!) to 1775 in America.

I have now retired as a solicitor but remain on the roll of solicitors in a non-practising capacity.
